AUTOart 1:18 Bugatti EB110 GT - Review

This AutoArt EB110 GT nails Bugatti’s unique 1990s supercar in 1:18. Its clean white paint and detailed body reproduce the EB110’s curves and vents perfectly.

AUTOart 1:18 Bugatti EB110 GT - Review

The EB110 is a polarizing supercar with its 1990s wedge styling. AutoArt’s Signature-Series white EB110 GT faithfully captures that bold shape. From the moving vent flaps behind the B-pillars to the color-matched interior, this model makes the EB110’s “oddly attractive” design unmistakable. In this review I’ll cover how well AutoArt nails the details of Bugatti’s first modern car and whether it’s worth the investment. Spoiler: it’s a lot of fun to admire at 1:18 scale.

Exterior & Paint – 9/10

The clean white finish is superb – very glossy and even, with no streaks or orange peel in sight (just as autoart promises for Signature series models). The EB110’s complex bodywork is well-executed: all the sharp creases, and inlets are clearly defined. I appreciate that AutoArt made the small vent flaps behind the B-pillars actually move (a rare touch at this scale), and each has the EB110 logo on it for authenticity. The doors fit snugly and the seams line up nicely. In person, the car’s sculpted lines and wide rear arches really stand out. Simply put, the paint and finish meet AutoArt’s high standards – no obvious flaws on my copy.

Detail & Accuracy – 8/10

AutoArt packed in plenty of scale accuracy. All exterior trim pieces (badges, wing mirrors, lights) are molded or painted sharply. I counted dozens of separate engine grilles and vents covered with fine perforated mesh – very impressive. The front hood lifts (more on that below) to show the electronics bay. Minor quibbles: some small intakes are blind (no openings), and the fuel cap looks a bit plain, but these don’t stand out. The Signature series also includes a display base and certificate, underscoring its prestige. Overall, everything on the outside looks correct for an EB110 GT.

Interior & Features – 7/10

Pop the doors open and you see an off-white interior (a nice choice versus ubiquitous black). The seats and dash shapes are molded accurately, and AutoArt even carpeted the front trunk (frunk). That said, the cabin is fairly plain – befitting the “GT” spec – with few contrasting colors or textures. One reviewer called the EB110 interior “bland”, and I agree it’s not flashy, but the off-white does make it more visible than the usual black. Visibility into the cabin is good thanks to the white, but at arm’s length the dashboard detail is pretty basic. For what it is – a straightforward replica – it’s acceptable, especially for a GT model which wasn’t lavish inside.

Functionality – 9/10

This model comes loaded with cool bits. The two side doors swing open (hinge near the rockers) and hold position firmly. The front hood opens on the same spring-loaded mechanism as AutoArt’s Veyron and others, revealing some electronics and the battery pack. The rear mid-engine cover lifts up to display the quad-turbocharged V12. Impressively, AutoArt included many engine details: visible metal support rods, braided hoses, even tiny photo-etched hose clamps and hidden radiators beyond the engine. Wheels are steerable and roll on rubber tires. Everything functions smoothly – the doors snap open crisply, the hood stays up, and the adjustable rear wing even tilts as on the real car. It’s a highly interactive model, just how collectors like it.

Value – 8/10

This Signature EB110 is not cheap – listed around $300 when new (Best Buy shows it at $260 sale). However, Signature series diecasts typically command that premium due to their detail and limited nature. Competing EB110 GT models (like AutoArt’s red 70977 or silver 70979) are similarly priced. The Super Sport versions run even higher (~$275), making this white GT comparatively good value if you prefer the cleaner look. At roughly $260–$220 on street, it’s in line with other high-end 1:18 exotics. For the high build quality, extensive features (frunk, engine opens) and rarity of the EB110 subject, I think the price is fair for collectors.

Pros

  • Excellent paint and fit: The white pearl finish and body alignment are flawless.
  • Rich details: Moving vent flaps with logos, perforated mesh grilles, and a fully modeled V12.
  • Full functionality: Doors, hood, and engine cover all open and stay put; wheels steer on rubber tires.
  • Signature presentation: Comes on a display base with certificate, marking it as a premium release.

Cons

  • Plain interior: Cabin is relatively simple (though correctly off-white).
  • Minor simplifications: Some vent intakes are blank/closed, and the fuel cap is basic.
  • Pricey for a toy: The detail is great, but budget is a consideration (though competitive for Signature series).

Overall Score – 8.6/10

AutoArt’s white EB110 GT is a faithful and satisfying model. It captures the quirky charm of the real car through top-notch paint and clever details (movable vents, detailed engine). It doesn’t skimp on features – you get opening panels, a solid feel, and true-to-scale presence. Yes, it’s an expensive collector’s piece, and the interior isn’t breathtaking, but nothing else quite looks like a 1:18 EB110. For Bugatti fans or anyone wanting a standout 90s supercar replica, this Signature Edition is hard to beat.
